Cornia Home
The Cornia home was completed in 2007. This home, with a detached garage, has a timber frame structure and a combination of exterior straw bale walls and conventional wood framed walls. The timber frame structure rests on an insulated poured concrete stem wall. One timber frame entry post is even scribed to perfectly fit an indigenous boulder! The straw bale walls (plastered and stuccoed inside and out) which are located around the outside of the timber frame components, sit on their own "toe up". An insulated and heated concrete slab completes the floor elements. The metal roof of the home combines three overlapping single pitched shed style sections and is made with exposed timber rafters, covered by SIPs (structural insulated panels), offering excellent "R" Values. One more shed style roof covers the garage. Plenty of unique and creative features complete the interior design of this sustainable timber frame home, including roll-away solid wood doors.

Powell Home
The Powell home was built in 2006. This home also combines a timber frame structure with exterior straw bale walls. The entire timber structure rests on top of an insulated and heated concrete slab that is encompassed by an insulated poured concrete stem wall. The straw bale walls, which provide superior insulation, are earthen and lime plastered inside and out. Conventional framing with dimensional lumber make up the interior walls. Many custom design details fill out the cozy, open, and airy interior space. Passive solar design, superior insulation, radiant heat, and grey water recycling, are paramount to this timber frame home.

Schuster Cabin
The Schuster cabin was constructed in 2007 - 2008. This cabin has a timber frame structure with wood framed walls in between the timber elements, all surrounded by a wrap-around deck. A poured and insulated concrete stem wall supports the exterior structure as well as the framed wood joist floor. The roof structure is made with exposed heavy timber rafters, covered by SIPs which offer excellent insulation capabilities. A loft compliments the interior open design. Roofing is corrugated steel with a variety of steel eave and soffet details. The siding on this cabin is a board & batton style using recycled Wyoming snow fence boards. A wood burning stove provides heat and ambience to this resource efficent timber frame cabin.
