About Our WHIMPY Timber Frame Crew

Some men work the "high steel", but Trey is the "high wood" man that tip-toes around on timbers high off the ground. Trey is also the Alpha male of the whimpy work pack . . . hard driving on the outside all day long with no remorse, but very whimpy on the inside.

Dedicated to his craft of timber framing, Trey is always working projects to the complete satisfaction of the home owners (except when he is sleeping). Trey is business man, fearless leader, designer, planner, contractor, boss man, timber framer, janitor, family man, and crew nanny. This is self evident by the number of different hats he has in his closet.

"High Wood" Man

Born to the children of Polish immigrants in Grand Rapids, MI. Grandson of a cobbler and furniture maker. Son of a stripper (furniture that is). Raised to angle with a fly. Due to extreme circumstances, Scott was forced to go to college, get a degree and get out of the house. Moved to Wyoming in 1994 and fished primarily and worked tending bar just to pay the bills. Single(!) with 2 children and working between casts. Much to Trey's chagrin, Scott still guides and instructs others on the true meaning of life . . . TO FISH!!

Polish Immigrant

Hi there, my name is Mike.
I love to truckbike.
"Sawing, scoring, and boring" timbers
helps keep my mind limber.
Also, beer is something I like!

If anyone is interested in ordering a truckbike, Mike will make you one when he is not sawing, scoring, or boring! Please send Mike an email message from our contact us page, and he will get back to you!

Bicycle Master

(abridged version)
Before I was employed by Whimpy Wolf Builders, my first experience with them was to help raise a timber frame cabin on South Pass in December. Getting into the work site we broke a snow chain, got two flat tires, and I shoveled two feet of snow from a long stretch of steep two track road.
I thought ?sign me up!?

I had come from being a self employed remodeler and cabinet maker, often working alone in a quiet midwestern shop. With WWB, Trey would laugh maniacally from the high wood, Scott called me whatever name came into his head and scolded me for coiling an extension cord wrong. I guess that is how we do things in Wyoming, and I would not have it any other way.

In the summers of 1996, 97 and 98, I worked with the US Forest Service, based out of Lander. Walking and working in the Wind River mountains, I fell in love with this place and always knew I would be back. Now, whether stacking straw bales and trowelling stucco in 90 degree heat, or hanging off a ladder on a steep roof in a stiff January wind, I look up at the mountains and know I am home.
